Do you know who you are? These two sacred texts: I John 3:1-3 and Matthew 5:1-12 help us understand who we are as human being and the path to what God knows we can be. I John 3 affirms that we are the "Children of God" and "We will be like God." In the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 we have a template for how we can purify ourselves and pursue the path to our greatest potential. In conclusion, yes we are broken and a mess at times but this is a temporary state -- as Children of God, we are destined to so much more.
